Firstly, a woman never expresses her desires, for she is supposed to be mum and stay silent. For the society, her opinions don’t matter. However, this painting depicts the impractical and delusional world of a woman who lives freely. Further, she has not restrictions to follow, no taunts to listen to, no one to stop her from doing what she wants to do.
In reality, she is dreaming of this world- this world doesn’t exist truly. But, every time that she is about to break out of it, she wants to stay a bit longer, enjoy herself in this misery-less world. Additionally, she knows that she isn’t valued in the real world, but here, it seems as if she’s the queen. For nobody questions her decisions, and agrees to whatever demand she makes.
