Painting of a dancing girl-Scarlet Jones is completely based on an experience that I had recently. In the blazing sun of the early summer, while walking down the street of Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris, my eyes caught the sight of a ballerina in the red tutu dress. The snow covered street was reflecting the sun rays on the little tiara on her head. She was kneeling down tying the knots of her pointe shoes, all the while holding a red rose in her lips.
There was some soft melodious ballet music playing in the corner. So, anticipating a performance some people started gathering around her in circles and I was also among the bystanders. She stood up and got a little intimidated by the curious gazes of the onlookers, but she did not let it come on her face. The chorus began and she started twirling with the red rose in her fingertips. She swiveled, she twisted, she revolved and made the viewers heart stop with her beautiful piece of ballet dance. She told the story of two twins who were separated from the birth and got reunited by their foster parents as adults.
The crowd roared with cheering in appreciation of her performance and the feelings that she displayed during performance. The emotions she portrayed during the performance were too raw to be fake. So, in order to fulfill my curiosity I had a little chat with her over a warm cup of coffee. And little did anyone knew the story she portrayed none other than hers only.
