Kartar Singh Sarabha, a young lad who got martyrdom at the age of 19.
He is widely regarded as one of the most influential young freedom fighters. Even Sardar Bhagat Singh drew inspiration from this great leader. Kartar Singh Sarabha was not only a passionate Indian freedom fighter but also a fearless revolutionary. During his trial under the biased judiciary of the British government, the court offered him a chance to appeal. However, he boldly refused. The judge was astounded to witness such determination and fearlessness in someone so young.
In view of his age, he advised the young revolutionary to modify his statement, but the result was the opposite. His bold words shook the walls of the courtroom-
“Why should I? If I had more lives than one, it would have been a great honour to me to sacrifice each of them for my country.”
